Cloverlines Devil Union: Relaunch Setup and Moveset

Last updated:

Devil Union transforms Null’s Anti-Magic into a six-skill moveset with ranged attacks, repeated slashes and area explosions. Using it well means choosing the right activation input and managing your position while the form gauge drains.

In the relaunch version, Null (Anti-Magic) paired with Demonkin is a working Devil Union setup. When the HUD offers Devil Union, hold G to transform; tapping G activates the first awakening instead. Use E, R, Z, X, C and V for the six replacement skills, and watch your form gauge and Health.

Relaunch Setup and Hold-G Activation

Use Null (Anti-Magic) with Demonkin for this relaunch-version setup.

  1. Equip Null.
  2. If you need to change your race for this setup, approach Elder Halen in the safe zone, press E at the Roll prompt, and choose Race to reroll for Demonkin. See races and rerolls for Spins and character-management details.
  3. Look for the HUD prompt offering Devil Union.
  4. Hold G to transform. A quick tap uses Null’s first awakening when it is available.

Devil Union adds Union armor, two wings and a tail, and replaces your skill list. The new list starts with Black Hurricane and includes Infinite Slash Equinox.

For Null’s base skills, first awakening and progression choices, use the Null guide.

Devil Union Skills and Controls

These controls apply while Devil Union is active.

Key Skill Attack and use
E Black Hurricane Spin and launch a hurricane toward a distant target. Use it when you want to attack from range.
R Annihilation Barrage Deliver repeated slashes against your target. Use it to follow up when the target is within reach.
Z Black Meteorite Rise into the air, charge, then land with an area explosion. Choose it for an impact around the landing point.
X Abyss Breaker Create a dark field around yourself and detonate it. Its cast provides invincibility frames, making it a useful option while attacking nearby enemies.
C Casuality Break Enlarge and raise your sword, then slash forward in a straight line. Line up the target in front of you.
V Infinite Slash Equinox Perform a cinematic pose and release a large forward slash. Face your target before committing to the attack.

Casuality Break is also called Casualty Break, and Infinite Slash Equinox is also called Infinity Slash Equinox.

Choose attacks by position: Black Hurricane reaches a distant target, Black Meteorite attacks around its landing point, and Abyss Breaker covers the area around you. The C and V attacks favor targets lined up ahead.

Manage the Form Gauge and Your Position

Devil Union has a separate form gauge that decreases over time. Watch it during combat so you can make use of the replacement skills while the form is active. When the HUD offers “hold for Devil Union” again, hold G to re-enter the form.

Keep Health investment alongside your Strength-focused Null build. Devil Union does not make you invulnerable: you can still die during the transformation, including in boss fights.

Pay particular attention to Black Meteorite’s landing point. Landing directly beside a boss that is still attacking can leave you exposed. Against Selian Valcrest, avoid finishing the aerial attack pressed against the boss; reassess your spacing before continuing the sequence.

Use Devil Union Against Bosses

Against Selian Valcrest, a usable attack sequence is Annihilation Barrage → Black Meteorite → Abyss Breaker → Casuality Break:

  1. Use R for repeated slashes against Selian.
  2. Follow with Z for the aerial charge and landing explosion.
  3. Use X to detonate the surrounding dark field while Selian is nearby.
  4. Face Selian and use C for the straight-line slash.

Treat this as a sequence to adapt to the boss’s position, rather than continuing automatically when an attack leaves you poorly placed. Black Hurricane gives you a ranged option when you need separation; Infinite Slash Equinox offers a large forward attack when the target is lined up.

See the Selian Valcrest guide for the boss’s location, encounter details and drops.
