Cloverlines Null Grimoire Guide: Skills, First Awakening and Stats

Last updated:

Null is Cloverlines’ Anti-Magic grimoire, with sword attacks and separate awakened movesets. Learn its base controls, build toward Dual Spin, and use the first awakening in PvE.

Null is a Mythic grimoire obtained through rolls at Grimoire Spire. Its base form has five skills, while the first awakening has six. For early progression, prioritize Strength for skill access and put the remaining points into Health; a route reaching at least 45 Strength makes Dual Spin available. With Null equipped and Awakening available on the HUD, tap G to enter the first awakening.

Null Is Anti-Magic

Null and Anti-Magic are the same grimoire. The tower lists Null as Mythic. To try for it, use E / Read at Grimoire Roll inside Grimoire Spire. Each attempt costs 1 Crystal Mana, and Null is one possible result. See the grimoire rolling guide for the location, rarity chances and guarantees.

Null has three distinct movesets: its base sword skills, its first awakening, and Devil Union. Awakening changes the active skill list, so the same key can perform a different attack after transforming. You can compare Null’s identity and rarity with other magic types in the grimoire directory.

Base Skills and Early Stat Spending

Equip Null and unlock the relevant skill before using these keyboard controls.

Base skill Input Action
Null Slash E Use Null Slash.
Rush Cleave R Use Rush Cleave.
Dual Spin Hold Z Hold the key to use Dual Spin.
Counter X Counter an incoming attack.
Dual Slashes C Perform a double slash.

Build toward Dual Spin

  1. Open Profile → Stats.
  2. Spend points toward the Null skills you want. For an early Dual Spin route, bring Strength to at least 45 points.
  3. Check the active skill list for Dual Spin, then hold Z to use it.
  4. After funding your next skill target, put the remaining points into Health.

The 45-point investment is a practical progression target for Dual Spin. Rush Cleave also becomes available through stat allocation; use its own requirement when planning that unlock.

If Rush Cleave misses, try moving closer before casting it again. For menu controls and the difference between stat unlocks and form-specific skills, see combat controls and skill unlocks.

Activate and Use the First Awakening

With Null equipped, wait until the HUD shows Awakening is available, then tap G. Your base skills are replaced by the first awakened moveset.

First-awakening skill Input
Dusk Cleaver E
Abyssal Rush R
Abyssal Pursuit Z
Null Cyclone Hold X
Grand Slicer C
Infernal Cataclysm V

Null Cyclone creates a red-and-black cyclone that repeatedly hits enemies. Hold X when you want sustained hits on enemies within its attack area. Grand Slicer offers broad attack coverage, making it a useful choice when you need to cover more space.

Watch the replacement skill list when switching forms: X changes from Counter to a held Null Cyclone, while Z changes from held Dual Spin to Abyssal Pursuit.

PvE Attack Sequences and Survival

Use these sequences with the required skills unlocked and the matching form active.

Base Null against Forest Boars

  1. Cast Rush Cleave — R.
  2. Follow with Null Slash — E.

First awakening against Armed Delinquents

  1. Open with Grand Slicer — C for its broad coverage.
  2. Follow with Dusk Cleaver — E.

These are consecutive attack sequences, not guaranteed-hit combos. Adjust your position to the target before following up.

For progression, favor Strength with Health support: Strength investment helps you reach skill requirements, while Health gives you room to survive incoming attacks. Keep that survival investment as you move into awakened combat—Devil Union still allows you to take lethal damage. Choose your next skill target rather than forcing a fixed Strength-to-Health ratio.

If you enjoy sword attacks and already have Null, developing its skills and forms is a practical path. For a broader choice between combat styles, see Null vs Battle Lightning for PvE.

Move On to Devil Union

In the relaunch version, Null equipped with the Demonkin race is a working Devil Union configuration. When the HUD offers Devil Union, hold G to activate it. This differs from tapping G for the first awakening.

Devil Union replaces your skills again and has a separate form gauge that decreases over time. Use the Devil Union guide for its six attacks, form-gauge management and boss attack sequence.
